Description
This standard is applicable to mature unprocessed onions of cultivars of Allium cepaL.,which are for direct consumption and excludes onions for industrial processing. This standard is intended to define the quality attributes of fresh onions after harvesting and to grade them according to the different quality levels. It also covers aspects of sampling, inspection and pesticide residue limits. The standard also covers other post-harvest activities all intended for the marketing purpose.
